Qualcomm (QCOM) Is Developing A New Flagship Chip

Qualcomm Snapdragon

It is reported today that Qualcomm (QCOM) currently has a flagship chip similar to Snapdragon 865 under development, still using TSMC’s 7nm process, using A77 and A55 cores.

The news reveals that Qualcomm may plan to launch a chip positioned between the Snapdragon 865 + and the Snapdragon 875, but it is currently impossible to determine more information about the chip, but it can be determined that it is not the Snapdragon 875 SoC.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chip was developed with the code name sm8350 and adopted TSMC’s 5nm process.

According to the other digital blogger @FashionTechnologyMuseum, the internal code name of the Snapdragon 875 processor is “Lahaina”, and there will be two models, SM8350 and SM8350AB, and the internal codes are “Lahaina” and “Lahaina Pro” respectively.

In addition, although the 5nm process is adopted, the two chips are quite different in the CPU architecture. Among them, the SM8350 is a 4×A78 design, while the SM8350AB will adopt the Cortex X1 super-large core architecture design for the first time, and even perfectly achieve the 30% single-core performance improvement claimed by ARM, and will be equipped with crazy overclocking GPU cores.

For these two chips, it is said that two manufacturers plan to launch corresponding models before the end of the year and begin stocking at the end of the year.
